The crowd at Thursday's league match between the Pickens Dragons (Jasper, GA) and the visiting Lumpkin County Indians (Dahlonega, GA), saw Pickens's softball squad nip Lumpkin County by a count of 3-2.

The Dragons now sport a 8-6 record. They take the field next when they host White County for a 3A Region 7 match on Wednesday, September 6. Pickens will face a Warriors squad coming off a 9-1 league loss to Wesleyan (Norcross, GA). The Warriors record now stands at 10-3.

With the loss, Lumpkin County falls to 5-8 on the campaign. The Indians host Gilmer (Ellijay, GA) to face the Bobcats in a 3A Region 7 match on Wednesday, September 6. The Bobcats enter the match with a record of 0-13. Gilmer lost 5-4 in their recent league match against West Hall (Oakwood, GA)
