Pickens Dragons (Jasper, GA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Lumpkin County Indians (Dahlonega, GA), 10-5 in a league challenge.

The Dragons now own a 12-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to White County for a 3A Region 7 challenge on Monday, September 25. Pickens will face a Warriors squad coming off a 10-0 league loss to Wesleyan (Norcross, GA). The Warriors record now stands at 13-7.

With the loss, Lumpkin County falls to 10-11 on the campaign. The Indians travel to Gilmer (Ellijay, GA) to face the Bobcats in a 3A Region 7 challenge on Monday, September 25. The Bobcats enter the challenge with a record of 2-19. Gilmer won 7-0 in their recent league challenge against West Hall (Oakwood, GA)
