In Thursday's non-league contest, the Waverly-Shell Rock Go-Hawks (Waverly, IA) volleyball squad edged the visiting Columbus Sailors (Waterloo, IA), by a margin of 2-1.

The Go-Hawks (2-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Tipton (Tipton, IA). The Tigers enter the non-league challenge with a 4-1 record. In their last challenge, Tipton was nudged by West Liberty (West Liberty, IA), 3-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Sailors meet the Mt. Vernon Mustangs (Mt. Vernon, IA) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, September 2. Columbus will attempt to move on its 3-6 season record.
