The Buckin' Elks (1-7) will now prepare for their battle against Surry Central (Dobson, NC). The Golden Eagles come into the non-league battle with a 4-3 record. In their last battle, Surry Central achieved victory over Wilkes Central (Wilkesboro, NC), 3-0, in a league battle.

Next, the Cardinals clash with the South Stokes Sauras (Walnut Cove, NC) in a Northwest 1A battle, on Tuesday, September 5. East Wilkes will attempt to advance on its 2-5 season record. The Sauras come into the battle with a 3-5 record after their 3-1 league loss to Mount Airy (Mount Airy, NC).
