Newton County Cougars (Decatur, MS) boosters left the game thrilled Saturday as they saw their volleyball squad achieve victory over the host Union Yellowjackets (Union, MS), 2-0 in a non-league test.

With the win, Newton County improves its record to 8-2 on the season. The Cougars host Sumrall (Sumrall, MS) to face the Bobcats in a non-league test on Tuesday, August 12. The Bobcats go into the test with a record of 5-2. Sumrall won 3-0 in their recent non-league test against Natchez (Natchez, MS)

The Yellowjackets now own a 6-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Northeast Lauderdale for a non-league test on Tuesday, August 12. Union will face a Trojans squad coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to Newton County (Decatur, MS). The Trojans record now stands at 2-5.
