Mississippi High School Volleyball - Newton County tips Union

The Newton County Cougars (Decatur, MS) volleyball held off the visiting Union Yellowjackets (Union, MS), 2-1 in Saturday's non-league bout.

The Cougars now possess a 30-5 record. They take the field next when they host Lake for a non-league match on Tuesday, September 30. Newton County will confront a Hornets squad coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to Newton County (Decatur, MS). The Hornets record now stands at 20-6.

The Yellowjackets (24-10) will now prepare for their match against St. Andrew's Episcopal (Ridgeland, MS). The Saints enter the Class 3A Region 5 match with a 4-9 record. In their last match, St. Andrew's Episcopal was tipped by Pisgah (Sandhill, MS), 3-1, in a league match.
