In Monday's non-league battle, the visiting New Covenant Gryphons volleyball team scored a tight 2-1 triumph over the Southwest Virginia Academy Conquerors.

The Gryphons (5-3) will now prepare for their battle against Carlisle (Axton, VA). The Chiefs come into the battle with a 2-0 record. In their last battle, Carlisle nudged Miller School of Albemarle (Charlottesville, VA), 2-0, in a league battle.

Next, the Conquerors clash with the Lynchburg HomeSchool Patriots (Lynchburg, VA) in a battle, on Friday, September 15. Southwest Virginia Academy will attempt to advance on its 5-5 season record. The Patriots come into the battle with a 4-6 record after their 2-0 non-league loss to Timberlake Christian (Forest, VA).
