Fans at Wednesday's league battle between the Alleghany Trojans (Sparta, NC) and the visiting South Stokes Sauras (Walnut Cove, NC), saw Alleghany's soccer squad hold off South Stokes by a count of 4-3.

The Trojans (2-1) will now prepare for their battle against North Wilkes (Hays, NC). The Vikings enter the non-league battle with a 2-6 record. In their last battle, North Wilkes was edged by East Surry (Pilot Mountain, NC), 1-0, in a league battle.

Next up, the Sauras confront the Mount Airy Granite Bears (Mount Airy, NC) in a Northwest 1A battle, on Monday, September 16. South Stokes will attempt to upgrade on its 3-6 season record. The Granite Bears enter the battle with a 2-1 record after their 4-2 non-league win over North Davidson (Lexington, NC).
