Fans at Wednesday's league battle between the Blue Ridge Early College Bobcats (Cashiers, NC) and the visiting Swain County Maroon Devils (Bryson City, NC), saw Blue Ridge Early College's soccer squad hold off Swain County by a score of 2-1.

The Bobcats (2-3) will now prepare for their battle against Murphy (Murphy, NC). The Bulldogs enter the Smoky Mountain 1A battle with a 2-6 record. In their last battle, Murphy tipped Cherokee (Cherokee, NC), 9-0, in a league battle.

Next up, the Maroon Devils confront the Andrews Wildcats (Andrews, NC) in a Smoky Mountain 1A battle, on Monday, September 16. Swain County will attempt to improve on its 2-5 season record. The Wildcats enter the contest with a 0-1 record after their 4-4 league Tri-County (Murphy, NC).
