Pender Patriots (Burgaw, NC) boosters exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they witnessed their soccer team triumph over the visiting East Columbus Gators (Lake Waccamaw, NC), 7-1 in a league match.

With the triumph, Pender moves its record to 8-3 on the campaign. The Patriots host South Columbus (Tabor City, NC) to meet the Stallions in a Waccamaw 1A/2A match on Monday, September 16. The Stallions come into the match with a record of 0-8. South Columbus lost 1-0 in their recent league match against East Bladen (Elizabethtown, NC)

The Gators now sport a 0-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Purnell Swett for a non-league match on Thursday, September 12. East Columbus will meet a Rams team coming off a 2-1 league loss to Jack Britt (Fayetteville, NC). The Rams record now stands at 2-5.
