Fans at Thursday's non-league contest between the Starmount Rams (Boonville, NC) and the host Wilkes Central Eagles (Wilkesboro, NC), observed Starmount's volleyball team top Wilkes Central by a tally of 2-0.

The Rams (7-4) will now prepare for their contest against Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC). The Huskies go into the non-league test with a 6-4 record. In their last test, Ashe County achieved victory over West Wilkes (Millers Creek, NC), 2-1, in a non-league test.

The Eagles now own a 4-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Freedom for a non-league test on Monday, September 15. Wilkes Central will encounter a Patriots squad coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to St. Stephens (Hickory, NC). The Patriots record now stands at 2-7.
