Fans at Thursday's league contest between the Eastside Eagles (Covington, GA) and the host Cedar Shoals Jaguars (Athens, GA), observed Eastside's volleyball team top Cedar Shoals by a count of 2-0.

The Eagles (8-17) will now prepare for their battle against Green Hill (Mt. Juliet, TN). The Hawks go into the non-league battle with a 13-1 record. In their last battle, Green Hill achieved victory over Hendersonville (Hendersonville, TN), 3-0, in a league battle.

The Jaguars now own a 3-11 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to North Oconee for a 4A Area 8 battle on Thursday, September 11. Cedar Shoals will meet a Titans team coming off a 3-1 non-league win over Oconee County (Watkinsville, GA). The Titans record now stands at 18-6.
