The Warriors go into the contest with a 0-11 record after their 3-0 league loss to West Lincoln (Lincolnton, NC).

With the loss, Newton-Conover moves to 3-5 on the year. The Red devils host Bunker Hill (Claremont, NC) to battle the Bears in a Catawba Valley Athletic 2A contest on Thursday, September 14. The Bears go into the contest with a record of 1-8. Bunker Hill lost 3-0 in their recent league contest against Maiden (Maiden, NC)
