In Friday's league bout, the Bentley Phoenix (Lafayette, CA) volleyball team knocked off the host Athenian Owls (Danville, CA), by a margin of 3-0.
The Phoenix now hold a 7-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Albany for a non-league match on Saturday, September 13. Bentley will confront a Cougars squad coming off a 3-0 league win over Pinole Valley (Pinole, CA). The Cougars record now stands at 4-5.
The Owls (1-5) will now prepare for their match against Contra Costa Christian (Walnut Creek, CA). The Cougars enter the non-league match with a 2-5 record. In their last bout, Contra Costa Christian defeated Holy Names (Oakland, CA), 3-0, in a league bout.
