Platte County Pirates (Platte City, MO) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Belton Pirates (Belton, MO), 9-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Pirates now own a 10-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Millard North for a non-league challenge on Friday, September 15. Platte County will battle a Mustangs squad coming off a 5-1 non-league loss to Gretna (Gretna, NE). The Mustangs record now stands at 12-4.

With the loss, Belton falls to 8-4 on the campaign. The Pirates travel to Smithville (Smithville, MO) to battle the Warriors in a non-league challenge on Monday, September 18. The Warriors enter the challenge with a record of 2-11. Smithville lost 8-7 in their recent non-league challenge against Harrisonville (Harrisonville, MO)
