In Thursday's league contest, the Auburn Eagles (Riner, VA) volleyball squad were winner over the visiting Fort Chiswell Pioneers (Max Meadows, VA), by a margin of 3-1.

Next up, the Eagles battle the Giles Spartans (Pearisburg, VA) in a Mountain Empire contest, on Monday, September 19. Auburn will attempt to better on its 4-2 season record. The Spartans go into the contest with a 8-2 record after their 3-1 non-league loss to Glenvar (Salem, VA).

With the loss, Fort Chiswell moves to 2-9 on the year. The Pioneers travel to Galax (Galax, VA) to battle the Maroon Tide in a Mountain Empire contest on Monday, September 19. The Maroon Tide go into the contest with a record of 7-5. Galax lost 3-1 in their recent league contest against Grayson County (Independence, VA)
