The crowd at Friday's league bout between the Lincoln East Spartans (Lincoln, NE) and the visiting Grand Island Islanders (Grand Island, NE), saw Lincoln East's volleyball squad beat Grand Island by a tally of 2-0.

With the win, Lincoln East upgrades its record to 10-2 on the year. The Spartans travel to Gretna (Gretna, NE) to play the Dragons in a non-league bout on Friday, September 16. The Dragons go into the bout with a record of 10-2. Gretna won 3-0 in their recent league bout against Bellevue East (Bellevue, NE)

The Islanders now own a 9-7 record. They play next when they travel to Bellevue West for a A District bout on Friday, September 16. Grand Island will play a Thunderbirds squad coming off a 3-0 league win over Benson (Omaha, NE). The Thunderbirds record now stands at 5-12.
