The Mt. Vernon Mustangs held off the visiting Lincoln Lynx volleyball team by a score of 2-1 in Saturday's non-league test.

The Mustangs now have a 14-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Clarinda for a non-league test on Saturday, September 16. Mt. Vernon will confront a Cardinals team coming off a 3-2 league win over Harlan (Harlan, IA). The Cardinals record now stands at 9-6.

The Lynx (11-10) will now prepare for their test against Lenox (Lenox, IA). The Tigers enter the non-league test with a 11-6 record.
