In Tuesday's non-league challenge, the visiting Gate City Blue Devils volleyball team scored a close 2-1 triumph over the John Battle Trojans.

The Blue Devils (1-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Lee (Jonesville, VA). The Generals come into the non-league challenge with a 5-3 record. In their last challenge, Lee was nudged by Ridgeview (Clintwood, VA), 2-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Trojans play the Abingdon Falcons (Abingdon, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, September 19. John Battle will attempt to upgrade on its 2-1 season record. The Falcons come into the challenge with a 10-0 record after their 2-1 non-league win over Lord Botetourt (Daleville, VA).
