Fans at Thursday's non-league contest between the West Columbus Vikings (Cerro Gordo, NC) and the visiting Union Spartans (Rose Hill, NC), observed West Columbus's volleyball team hold off Union by a count of 2-1.

The Vikings (3-6) will now prepare for their contest against East Columbus (Lake Waccamaw, NC). The Gators enter the non-league contest with a 7-0 record.

Next, the Spartans battle the North Duplin Rebels (Calypso, NC) in a non-league battle, on Tuesday, September 23. Union will attempt to move on its 2-11 season record. The Rebels enter the contest with a 6-6 record after their 2-1 non-league loss to East Columbus (Lake Waccamaw, NC).
