The Laurel Golden Tornadoes volleyball squad scored 3 points and limited the visiting Taylorsville Tartars to 0 in the Golden Tornadoes non-league victory on Thursday.

Next up, the Golden Tornadoes confront the Brookhaven Panthers (Brookhaven, MS) in a Class 5A Region 3 game, on Tuesday, September 23. Laurel will attempt to advance on its 5-9 season record.

The Tartars (1-10) will now prepare for their game against Piney Woods (Piney Woods, MS). The Tornadoes enter the Class 1A Region 7 game with a 0-1 record. In their last game, Piney Woods was dropped by Mississippi School for the Deaf (Jackson, MS), 3-0, in a league game.
