In Thursday's non-league match, the Johnson Central Golden Eagles (Paintsville, KY) volleyball squad overcame the host Belfry Pirates (Belfry, KY), by a count of 3-0.
Next up, the Golden Eagles battle the Martin County Cardinals (Inez, KY) in a District 57 match, on Monday, September 23. Johnson Central will attempt to move on its 12-3 season record. The Cardinals enter the match with a 6-3 record after their 3-0 league win over Magoffin County (Salyersville, KY).
The Pirates (2-12) will now prepare for their match against Mingo Central (Matewan, WV). The Miners enter the non-league match with a 0-3 record. In their last match, Mingo Central was outscored by Liberty (Glen Daniel, WV), 2-0, in a league match.
