North Carolina High School Volleyball - Mitchell crushed by Polk County

In Tuesday's league contest, the Polk County Wolverines (Columbus, NC) volleyball team overcame the visiting Mitchell Mountaineers (Bakersville, NC), by a count of 3-0.

The Wolverines (4-3) will now prepare for their contest against Mountain Heritage (Burnsville, NC). The Cougars enter the Western Highlands 2A/3A contest with a 4-4 record. In their last contest, Mountain Heritage notched a victory over Madison (Marshall, NC), 3-1, in a league battle.

The Mountaineers now own a 2-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Owen for a Western Highlands 2A/3A battle on Thursday, September 4. Mitchell will encounter a Warhorses squad coming off a 3-0 league win over Avery County (Newland, NC). The Warhorses record now stands at 7-0.
