Highland Hornets (Albuquerque, NM) fans were thrilled Tuesday as they observed their soccer team triumph over the host Valencia Jaguars (Los Lunas, NM), 10-0 in a league challenge.
Next, the Hornets face the Grants Pirates (Grants, NM) in a 4A District 5 challenge, on Friday, September 23. Highland will attempt to better on its 8-2 season record. The Pirates enter the challenge with a 1-8 record after their 10-0 league loss to St. Pius X (Albuquerque, NM).
The Jaguars now have a 2-7 record. They take the field next when they host Santa Teresa for a non-league challenge on Saturday, September 24. Valencia will face a Desert Warriors team coming off a 2-1 non-league loss to Hobbs (Hobbs, NM). The Desert Warriors record now stands at 3-5.
