Franklin County Lions (Carnesville, GA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes (Monroe, GA), 9-1 in a league challenge.

The Lions now own a 15-5 record. They take the field next when they host Oconee County for a 3A Region 8 challenge on Thursday, September 22. Franklin County will battle a Warriors squad coming off a 16-8 league win over Stephens County (Toccoa, GA). The Warriors record now stands at 8-12.

With the loss, Monroe Area falls to 8-8 on the campaign. The Purple hurricanes travel to Bethlehem Christian Academy (Bethlehem, GA) to battle the Knights in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, September 21. The Knights enter the challenge with a record of 5-6. Bethlehem Christian Academy won 10-8 in their recent league challenge against Loganville Christian Academy (Loganville, GA)
