The crowd at Tuesday's league bout between the St. James Sharks (Murrells Inlet, SC) and the visiting Sumter Fighting Gamecocks (Sumter, SC), saw St. James's volleyball squad beat Sumter by a tally of 3-0.

With the win, St. James upgrades its record to 1-7 on the year. The Sharks travel to Carolina Forest (Myrtle Beach, SC) to play the Panthers in a AAAAA Region 5 bout on Thursday, September 22. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 10-2. Carolina Forest won 3-1 in their recent league bout against Socastee (Myrtle Beach, SC)

The Fighting Gamecocks now own a 5-9 record. They play next when they host Conway for a AAAAA Region 5 bout on Thursday, September 22. Sumter will play a Tigers squad coming off a 3-0 non-league win over Loris (Loris, SC). The Tigers record now stands at 12-7.
