North Carolina High School Volleyball - North Iredell held off by Hickory

Fans at Saturday's non-league contest between the Hickory Red Tornadoes (Hickory, NC) and the host North Iredell Raiders (Olin, NC), observed Hickory's volleyball team hold off North Iredell by a count of 2-1.

The Red Tornadoes (18-2) will now prepare for their contest against Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC). The Huskies enter the non-league contest with a 12-3 record. In their last contest, Ashe County got by Alleghany (Sparta, NC), 3-0, in a league contest.

Next, the Raiders battle the South Iredell Vikings (Statesville, NC) in a North Piedmont 6A/7A battle, on Tuesday, September 23. North Iredell will attempt to improve on its 14-5 season record. The Vikings go into the battle with a 9-7 record after their 3-0 league win over Statesville (Statesville, NC).
