The crowd at Thursday's non-league bout between the Wakefield School Fighting Owls (The Plains, VA) and the host Herndon Hornets (Herndon, VA), saw Wakefield School's volleyball squad nip Herndon by a tally of 2-1.

With the win, Wakefield School upgrades its record to 3-5 on the year. The Fighting Owls host McLean (McLean, VA) to play the Highlanders in a non-league bout on Tuesday, October 3. The Highlanders go into the bout with a record of 4-0.

The Hornets now own a 0-6 record. They play next when they travel to Yorktown for a non-league bout on Tuesday, September 26. Herndon will play a Patriots squad coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to Washington-Liberty (Arlington, VA). The Patriots record now stands at 1-5.
