The East Chicago Central Cardinals held off the visiting Gary West Side Cougars volleyball team by a score of 3-2 in Thursday's league test.

The Cardinals now have a 7-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to River Forest for a non-league test on Monday, September 25. East Chicago Central will confront a Ingots team coming off a 2-0 non-league win over Victory Christian Academy (Valparaiso, IN). The Ingots record now stands at 10-14.

The Cougars (0-7) will now prepare for their test against Whiting (Whiting, IN). The Oilers enter the non-league test with a 11-10 record. In their last test, Whiting was nudged by Merrillville (Merrillville, IN), 3-0, in a non-league test.
