Laney Buccaneers (Wilmington, NC) fans were thrilled Thursday as they observed their soccer team triumph over the host North Brunswick Scorpions (Leland, NC), 7-0 in a league challenge.

Next, the Buccaneers face the South Brunswick Cougars (Southport, NC) in a Mideastern 3A/4A challenge, on Monday, September 26. Laney will attempt to better on its 9-0 season record. The Cougars enter the challenge with a 2-3 record after their 6-0 league loss to New Hanover (Wilmington, NC).

The Scorpions now have a 5-4 record. They take the field next when they host West Brunswick for a Mideastern 3A/4A challenge on Monday, September 26. North Brunswick will face a Trojans team coming off a 5-0 league loss to Ashley (Wilmington, NC). The Trojans record now stands at 2-7.
