Portal Panthers (Portal, GA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Jenkins County War Eagles (Millen, GA), 7-0 in a league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 7-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Bulloch Academy for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, September 27.

With the loss, Jenkins County falls to 6-9 on the campaign. The War eagles travel to Montgomery County (Mt. Vernon, GA) to face the Eagles in a 1A D-II Region 3 challenge on Tuesday, September 27. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 8-8. Montgomery County won 14-4 in their recent league challenge against McIntosh County Academy (Darien, GA)
