Pike County Pirates (Zebulon, GA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Starr's Mill Panthers (Fayetteville, GA), 12-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Pirates now own a 12-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to Morgan County for a non-league challenge on Friday, September 23. Pike County will face a Bulldogs squad coming off a 9-1 league win over Cross Creek (Augusta, GA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 14-5.

With the loss, Starr's Mill falls to 2-13 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Fayette County (Fayetteville, GA) to face the Tigers in a 4A Region 4 challenge on Tuesday, September 27. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 2-9. Fayette County won 18-4 in their recent league challenge against Riverdale (Riverdale, GA)
