Georgia High School Softball - Berrien edges Irwin County

In Monday's non-league match, the visiting Berrien Rebels softball team scored a tight 4-2 win over the Irwin County Indians.
The Rebels (8-12) will now prepare for their match against Fitzgerald (Fitzgerald, GA). The Purple Hurricane come into the 1A D-I Region 1 match with a 3-17 record. In their last match, Fitzgerald by Clinch County (Homerville, GA), 6-5, in a non-league match.
In their next game, the Indians battle the Echols County Wildcats (Statenville, GA) in a 1A D-II Region 2 match, on Tuesday, September 24. Irwin County will attempt to better on its 12-3 season record. The Wildcats come into the match with a 4-11 record after their 9-5 league loss to Charlton County (Folkston, GA).
