North Carolina High School Soccer - Topsail held off by Laney

The Laney Buccaneers edged the visiting Topsail Pirates soccer team by a tally of 3-2 in Tuesday's league game.

Next, the Buccaneers face the Hoggard Vikings (Wilmington, NC) in a Carolina Coast 6A/7A/8A challenge, on Thursday, September 25. Laney will attempt to better on its 12-1 season record. The Vikings go into the challenge with a 9-1 record after their 1-0 league win over New Hanover (Wilmington, NC).

With the loss, Topsail moves to 7-5 on the year. The Pirates host West Brunswick (Shallotte, NC) to encounter the Trojans in a Carolina Coast 6A/7A/8A challenge on Thursday, September 25. The Trojans go into the challenge with a record of 7-3. West Brunswick won 3-2 in their recent league challenge against North Brunswick (Leland, NC)
