Fans at Thursday's league contest between the Springfield Bulldogs (Springfield, LA) and the visiting Independence Tigers (Independence, LA), observed Springfield's volleyball team top Independence by a count of 3-0.

The Bulldogs (5-5) will now prepare for their battle against Pine (Franklinton, LA). The Raiders go into the non-league battle with a 4-8 record. In their last battle, Pine achieved victory over Bogalusa (Bogalusa, LA), 3-0, in a non-league battle.

The Tigers now own a 3-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host St. Helena College and Career Academy for a Division IV District 7 battle on Tuesday, September 30. Independence will meet a Hawks team coming off a 3-0 league loss to St. Thomas Aquinas (Hammond, LA). The Hawks record now stands at 1-9.
