In Tuesday's league battle, the host Newton Tigers volleyball team scored a 3-1 triumph over the Scott Central Rebels.
The Tigers (2-8) will now prepare for their battle against Clarkdale (Meridian, MS). The Bulldogs come into the Class 3 Region 5 battle with a 10-5 record. In their last battle, Clarkdale lost by Lake (Lake, MS), 3-1, in a league battle.
Next, the Rebels clash with the Pisgah Dragons (Sandhill, MS) in a non-league battle, on Monday, October 2. Scott Central will attempt to advance on its 1-12 season record.
