Fans at Thursday's league contest between the Port Gibson Blue Waves (Port Gibson, MS) and the host South Pike Eagles (Magnolia, MS), observed Port Gibson's volleyball team hold off South Pike by a count of 3-2.

The Blue Waves (12-3) will now prepare for their contest against Wesson (Wesson, MS). The Cobras enter the Class 3A Region 7 contest with a 14-8 record. In their last contest, Wesson was tipped by Salem (Tylertown, MS), 3-0, in a non-league contest.

Next, the Eagles meet the Franklin County Bulldogs (Meadville, MS) in a Class 3A Region 7 contest, on Monday, September 30. South Pike will attempt to move on its 6-8 season record. The Bulldogs enter the contest with a 12-4 record after their 3-0 league win over Hazlehurst (Hazlehurst, MS).
