The Union County Panthers (Blairsville, GA) volleyball nudged the host Athens Academy Spartans (Athens, GA), 2-1 in Wednesday's league outing.

With the win, Union County upgrades its record to 8-22 on the year. The Panthers travel to East Jackson (Commerce, GA) to face the Eagles in a 2A Area 8 outing on Thursday, September 28. The Eagles go into the outing with a record of 14-12. East Jackson won 2-0 in their recent league outing against Fellowship Christian (Roswell, GA)

The Spartans now own a 7-17 record. They play next when they travel to Union County for a 2A Area 8 outing on Thursday, September 28. Athens Academy will face a Panthers squad coming off a 2-1 league win over Athens Academy (Athens, GA). The Panthers record now stands at 8-22.
