The La Cueva Bears soccer team scored 3 points and limited the visiting Sandia Matadors to 1 in the Bears league victory on Wednesday.

Next, the Bears face the Farmington Scorpions (Farmington, NM) in a 5A District 2 contest, on Saturday, October 1. La Cueva will attempt to better on its 10-3 season record. The Scorpions enter the contest with a 6-4 record after their 3-0 league loss to Eldorado (Albuquerque, NM).

The Matadors now have a 8-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Piedra Vista for a 5A District 2 contest on Friday, September 30. Sandia will face a Panthers team coming off a 5-0 league win over West Mesa (Albuquerque, NM). The Panthers record now stands at 6-5.
