Fans at Saturday's league battle between the Providence Day Chargers (Charlotte, NC) and the host Covenant Day Lions (Matthews, NC), saw Providence Day's soccer squad hold off Covenant Day by a score of 2-1.

The Chargers (5-8) will now prepare for their battle against Cannon (Concord, NC). The Cougars enter the NCISAA Charlotte battle with a 10-8 record. In their last battle, Cannon was edged by Charlotte Country Day School (Charlotte, NC), 4-0, in a league battle.

Next up, the Lions confront the Carmel Christian Cougars (Matthews, NC) in a non-league battle, on Monday, September 30. Covenant Day will attempt to improve on its 8-4 season record. The Cougars enter the battle with a 6-4 record after their 1-0 non-league win over Greater Cabarrus Stallions (Concord, NC).
