The Goreville Blackcats volleyball team (Goreville, IL), was edged 2-1 in Thursday's league battle with the host Christopher Bearcats (Christopher, IL)

The Bearcats (15-12) will now prepare for their battle against Sesser-Valier (Sesser, IL). The Red Devils come into the Black Diamond West battle with a 4-6 record. In their last battle, Sesser-Valier nudged Vienna (Vienna, IL), 2-1, in a league battle.

Next, the Blackcats clash with the Hamilton County Foxes (McLeansboro, IL) in a non-league battle, on Saturday, October 1. Goreville will attempt to advance on its 5-2 season record. The Foxes come into the battle with a 15-4 record after their 2-0 league win over Eldorado (Eldorado, IL).
