Match Summary

In the Headliner match of the night, our Phoenix fought the Falcons and defeated them in four sets, coming out on top in this ferocious Battle of the Birds! With some of their best play of the season, the Phoenix players looked comfortable on their own court and laid into their opponents to open the match with a lopsided victory in Set 1. Sets 2 and 3 were back and forth affairs, with the Phoenix beginning to look tired as they dropped the 3rd set. But boosted by the fact that both of our Varsity players were in the game tonight, our team was able to get a second wind, rally in the 4th set and come out on top, to the great jubilation of all 17 players, our coaches and our fans! It was tough to get kills tonight against the Lady Falcons' dogged defense. Helping to give us an edge in the match against this formidable defensive team was a very strong serving performance and far superior play at the net! All in all, it was a great competition with a good school!
