In Saturday's league contest, the Grand Island Islanders (Grand Island, NE) volleyball squad were winner over the host Columbus Discoverers (Columbus, NE), by a margin of 2-0.

Next up, the Islanders battle the Burke Bulldogs (Omaha, NE) in a A District contest, on Saturday, September 30. Grand Island will attempt to better on its 20-6 season record. The Bulldogs go into the contest with a 9-13 record after their 3-0 league win over Omaha Central (Omaha, NE).

With the loss, Columbus moves to 12-10 on the year. The Discoverers host Bellevue East (Bellevue, NE) to battle the Chieftains in a A District contest on Saturday, September 30.
