Fans at Monday's non-league contest between the Lutheran Gryphons (Metairie, LA) and the visiting Grand Isle Trojans (Grand Isle, LA), observed Lutheran's volleyball team top Grand Isle by a count of 3-1.

The Gryphons (1-8) will now prepare for their contest against West St. John (Edgard, LA). The Rams enter the Division V District 8 contest with a 1-11 record. In their last contest, West St. John was knocked off by McDonogh 35 (New Orleans, LA), 3-0, in a non-league contest.

Next, the Trojans battle the Central Catholic Eagles (Morgan City, LA) in a Division V District 6 contest, on Wednesday, October 2. Grand Isle will attempt to move on its 0-3 season record. The Eagles enter the contest with a 7-7 record after their 3-0 league win over Centerville (Centerville, LA).
