With the win, Oxford improves its record to 25-10 on the season. The Chargers travel to DeSoto Central (Southaven, MS) to face the Jaguars in a non-league test on Thursday, October 2. The Jaguars go into the test with a record of 22-11. DeSoto Central won 3-2 in their recent non-league test against Northwest Rankin (Brandon, MS)

Next, the Commodores meet the Pontotoc Warriors (Pontotoc, MS) in a Class 5A Region 1 challenge, on Thursday, October 2. Lafayette will attempt to upgrade on its 12-19 season record. The Warriors come into the challenge with a 16-14 record after their 3-0 league win over Columbus (Columbus, MS).
