With the victory, Oxford moves its record to 20-7 on the year. The Chargers host Northwest Rankin (Brandon, MS) to battle the Cougars in a non-league contest on Saturday, September 6. The Cougars enter the contest with a record of 10-6. Northwest Rankin won 3-0 in their recent league contest against Meridian (Meridian, MS)

Next, the Commodores battle the New Hope Trojans (Columbus, MS) in a Class 5A Region 1 battle, on Tuesday, September 9. Lafayette will attempt to improve on its 5-14 season record.
