In Wednesday's non-league match, the Asheboro Blue Comets (Asheboro, NC) volleyball squad overcame the host Southeast Guilford Falcons (Greensboro, NC), by a count of 3-1.

Next up, the Blue Comets battle the Oak Grove Grizzlies (Winston-Salem, NC) in a Mid-Piedmont 3A match, on Thursday, September 5. Asheboro will attempt to move on its 8-0 season record. The Grizzlies enter the match with a 5-3 record after their 3-0 non-league win over Mount Airy (Mount Airy, NC).

The Falcons (2-5) will now prepare for their match against Southwest Guilford (High Point, NC). The Cowboys enter the Metro 4A match with a 5-3 record. In their last match, Southwest Guilford was outscored by Northern Guilford (Greensboro, NC), 3-0, in a league match.
