Manchester Lancers (Midlothian, VA) backers were pleased Thursday as they witnessed their volleyball team overcome the visiting James River Midlothian Rapids (Midlothian, VA), 3-0 in a league challenge.

The Lancers (3-1) will now prepare for their challenge against L.C. Bird (Chesterfield, VA). The Skyhawks come into the Dominion challenge with a 0-3 record. In their last challenge, L.C. Bird was beaten by Cosby (Midlothian, VA), 3-0, in a league test.

The Rapids now sport a 1-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Grassfield for a non-league test on Friday, September 5. James River Midlothian will face a Grizzlies squad coming off a 3-1 league win over Hickory (Chesapeake, VA). The Grizzlies record now stands at 1-0.
