The crowd at Tuesday's non-league bout between the North Stanly Comets (New London, NC) and the visiting Union Academy Cardinals (Monroe, NC), saw North Stanly's volleyball squad nip Union Academy by a tally of 2-1.

With the win, North Stanly upgrades its record to 3-4 on the year. The Comets host Gray Stone Day (Misenheimer, NC) to play the Knights in a non-league bout on Thursday, September 7. The Knights go into the bout with a record of 9-1. Gray Stone Day won 2-1 in their recent non-league bout against West Stanly (Oakboro, NC)

The Cardinals now own a 1-4 record. They play next when they travel to Christ the King for a non-league bout on Wednesday, September 13.
