Spectators at Tuesday's league match between the Vidalia Indians (Vidalia, GA) and the visiting Appling County Pirates (Baxley, GA), witnessed Vidalia's softball squad tip Appling County by a count of 3-2.

The Indians now sport a 5-6 record. They play next when they host Pierce County for a 2A Region 3 match on Thursday, September 7. Vidalia will meet a Bears squad coming off a 9-1 league win over Tattnall County (Reidsville, GA). The Bears record now stands at 5-5.

With the loss, Appling County moves to 5-2 on the season. The Pirates host Brantley County (Nahunta, GA) to meet the Herons in a 2A Region 3 match on Thursday, September 7. The Herons go into the match with a record of 4-6. Brantley County lost 5-4 in their recent non-league match against Bacon County (Alma, GA)
